Welcome to the Stress resilience in crops research group webpage. We investigate how plants respond to external and internal stimuli and how this responses can reprogram their development. We study tomato responses to salinity and drought stress and underlying gene regulatory networks and plant stress physiology. One of the main goal of the group is to understand the role and importance of root architecture, in abiotic stress resilience and the interaction of plant roots with soil microbial communities and other organic biostimulants. Our research group is part of the Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Wageningen University, and is led by Dr. Rumyana Karlova.
